About Us

Our Educational Program

At our Paddington, Five Dock, and Moore Park Child Care Centres, our educational programs are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and guided by the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Each day at Gumnut Gardens is thoughtfully designed to provide meaningful, play-based learning experiences, delivered through the unique Gumnuts way of teaching based on children’s interest.

We recognise that every child learns differently and at their own pace. By drawing on a variety of learning theories, we create opportunities for all children to grow, discover, and thrive.

The early years are the optimal time to lay the foundations for lifelong learning. Research shows that most of a child’s learning is established before the age of five, highlighting the importance of high-quality early childhood education.

Through our programs, children develop essential thinking skills, resilience, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills.

They also build a sense of social responsibility and awareness of their environment, peers, and the world around them.

We nurture each child’s social and emotional growth and encourage a love of learning so that when they begin kindergarten, they have the skills and confidence to thrive.

Our Tailored Programs

Our tailored programs offer a wide range of experiences across all areas of development, guided by children’s interests. Learning domains are explored through play-based experiences, including:

·       STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths)

·       Literacy and numeracy

·       Creative and visual arts

·       Music and movement

·       Sensory play

·       Social justice and environmental awareness

·       School readiness program for preschool

At Gumnut Gardens, every child is encouraged to explore, imagine, and grow in a supportive and inspiring environment. Family feedback is highly valued and helps us continually enrich and enhance our programs.
